Founded in 1979, SIGTTO has become the authority on safety of liquefied gas transportation and storage, thanks to the support of the members.
Formed originally with thirteen members, SIGTTO was granted consultative status at the International Maritime Organization in November 1983
At our core is the Secretariat, based in London, which runs the day-to-day operations. The team is supported by our committees and working groups, which are the vehicle for our members to issue publications and changes in our industry. See How We Work for more detail.
